(Non-pharma) refrigerated trucks everywhere - Geneva

Dear all,

It is quite routine... Weekdays, every morning I wait together with Deniz (my daughter) for her school bus at Collonge-Bellerive. Around 07:15, just a few minutes before the school bus arrives, two refrigerated trucks arrive - one heading to the marche (small market) next to our house, the other to the Pizza Marronnier restaurant and start offloading veggies and diary products... I take the bus E and change at Rive where 16 different public transport route busses/trams and trolleys cross and take bus 8 to the office. A very short walk between the bus E and the bus 8, I also observe several refrigerated trucks delivering perishables to restaurants, Halle de Rive and Starbucks... The below photo was taken on THU morning 3 OCT in Rive. You see two trucks one on the left in front of the Halle de Rive and one in front of the Starbucks (Oro Frais). 

Coming from Turkey and having the renown Turkish coffee, I must say that I am a "tea" drinker. I do drink coffee but quite seldom. But I know, coffee is great in Switzerland, and I never understood how Starbucks would compete with Geneva cafes... Today it turned out to be the gathering place for youngsters with their gadgets enjoying free internet access and sipping their drinks and munching on various deli products brought to them with the help of such a refrigerated truck as you see in the photograph.

Hello Everyone,

This week I noticed temperature controlled trucks everywhere! These are a few pictures from the street outside of my office.

The first is a truck from a farming area about two hours north of Washington, DC.  It has a Thermo King (http://www.thermoking.com/) bulk head unit and was idle at the time that I walked by. It was parked in front of the lunch cafe outside of my office. 

The second truck was a meat and seafood delivery truck. It was on the same street, outside of my office. It has a Carrier bulk head unit and was idle when I walked by. The truck advertises "just a little bit better" products :)

Hi Everybody!
Here is my HUNT. I should say that its a part of my collection, and pictures was done before today. But they are done on good camera

This Volvo truck is a property of Microgen company. Microgen is a main russian producer of vaccines. Captured in Moscow last autumn. Truck is prepared for vaccine transportation, have curtains and good refrigiration unit of "thermoking". Truck is controled by internal registration system and temperature indicators inside body. On the left side "Vaccines for children immunisation program"

This is a body of peugeot boxer was captured in Saint-Petersburg, is property of shiping company "coordinated". It was a regular truck (without insulation) but was modified for temperature sensitive shipments. I enjoy channels for airflow and special bottom of the vessel.

This is a body of another peugeot boxer, this one with insulated body, you may see a refrigeration unit. But dont have a curtains. (Saint-Petersburg)

 So thats it. Will try to Hunt some more tomorrow :)

Well today I've got something new. This trucks I found near supermarkets :) Find a squirrel :)

Scavenger hunt is a game in which the organizers prepare a list defining specific items. Then, the participants seek to gather all the items on the list or take photographs of the items, as specified. For fun (and learning purposes) throughout the course, every two weeks, in total we will have six items for you to hunt (take a photograph of the item).  Increase your powers of observation on items related cold chain and good storage & distribution practices...
